Exactly how Puerto Ricans Arrived on Hawai’i Island

Throughout the north tip of Hawai‘i Island near the room now known as Coast Guard Station stall slightly monument.

They sailed from San Juan harbor to brand new Orleans, Louisiana, then rode the train completely to la, Ca. After that, they sailed to Hawai‘i on steamship named Rio de Janeiro. They came on O‘ahu in December 1900.
The very first laborers emerged on Hawai‘i area during the early 1901 working primarily on sugar ranches inside the Kohala neighborhood.
While they got expected to make a better existence for themselves in addition to their people, the early times of doing work in Hawai‘i was not enjoyable or easy.
